Herbal drugs are more widely used than allopathic drugs as hepatoprotectives because of them are inexpensive, better cultural acceptability, better compatibility, with the human body and minimal side effects. In the current review, it had been tried to redefine the use of important herbal hepatoprotective drugs like Andrographis paniculata; Swertia Chirata etc. that consist of specific chemical constituents who have their specific hepatoprotective activity against hepatotoxicant like ethanol, drugs, chemicals and others. These herbal drugs have shown the ability to maintain the normal functional statues of the liver with or without fewer side effects. These are the reason that’s why herbal hepatoprotectives are mostly preferred by medical practitioners, as well as over- the-counter.
SYNTHETIC AND BIOLOGICAL MULTIPLICITY OF ISATIN: A REVIEW
Isatin (2,3-dioxindole) is an endogenous compound identified in humans, and its effect has been studied in a variety of systems. Isatin nucleus having both the keto and lactam moiety has aroused tremendous curiosity due to its diverse biological and pharmacological studies. From literature survey it is well known that isatin heterocycles exhibit manifold importance in the field of medicinal chemistry as a potent chemotherapeutic agent. Biological properties of isatin include a range of actions in the brain and offer protection against certain types of infections. This review represents some synthesized isatin derivatives and their pharmacological profiles which may contribute in future to synthesize various analogs and to develop new pharmacologically less toxic medicines.
PHYTOPHARMACOGNOSTIC INVESTIGATION OF BAUHINIA TOMENTOSA LINN

SYNTHESIS, CHARACTERIZATION AND BIOLOGICAL ACTIVITIES OF SOME NEW HYPOPHOSPHOROUS ADDUCTS OF ACID HYDRAZONES DERIVED FROM 2, 5-DICHLOROANILIDOACETOHYDRAZIDE
A new series of hypophosphorous adducts of acid hydrazones have been synthesized by the reaction of 2, 5-dichloroanilidoaceto hydrazide with various Carbonyl Compounds in 42% to 69% yield. Newly synthesized compounds have been tested for their anti-bacterial activity against gram positive bacteria S.albus, S.aureus and gram negative bacteria E.coli and Pseudomonas piosineus. The compound 1, 4, 11, 12, 13 and 15 shown significant activities and compounds 2, 3, 7, 8 and 9 have shown moderate activity. The same compounds were tested for their anti-fungal activity against Candida albicans, Aspergillus niger and Alternaria alternata at concentration of 30 mg/ml using Savored dextrose agar media. The compound 3, 12, 14, 15 shown significant activities and compound 1, 2, 4, 10, 16 and 17 have shown moderate activity against Candida albicans and Aspergillus niger. All the other compounds did not show significant activity against the fungi at the concentration used.
DENSITY AND VISCOSITY STUDIES OF PARACETAMOL IN ETHANOL + WATER SYSTEM AT 301.5 K
Density and Viscosity of drug Paracetamol (PAM) in various aqueous mixtures of ethanol have been determined. These results are further extended for solutes like electrolyte NaCl and non-electrolyte sucrose in the presence of this drug. The density and viscosity data have been analyzed for the evaluation of partial molar volume, molar excess volume, excess viscosity and A & B viscosity coefficients using Jones-Dole equation.
It can be inferred from these studies that this drug acts as a structure-making compound due to hydrophobic hydration of drug molecules. B-coefficients values are found to be positive thereby showing drug solvent interactions. Furthermore these results are correlated to understand the solution behavior of drug.
ADSORPTION OF CATIONIC DYES FROM AQUEOUS SOLUTIONS USING POLYANILINE CONDUCTING POLYMER AS A NOVEL ADSORBENT
In this research, polyanilline (PANi) as coated film onto sawdust was used for removal of methylene blue (as a typical cationic or basic dye) from aqueous solutions. The experiments were conducted using both batch and column systems. The operating variables studied were initial solution pH, adsorbent mass, initial dye concentration and contact time. The experimental data were analyzed by the Langmuir and Freundlich models of adsorption. In order to find out the possibility of reuse, desorption study was also carried out in this investigation. It was found that the currently introduced adsorbents can be used to remove cationic dyes such as methylene blue from aqueous solutions very efficiently. Regeneration of the column or desorption of the dye uploaded adsorbent can also be achieved using very simple and cost effective method with high performance.
