Abstract
The inhibitive effect of Mimusops Elengi Leaves extract on Carbon steel corrosion in 1.0 N HCl solution was studied using electro chemical techniques. Observed result indicates that the corrosion inhibition efficiency was increased with increase of inhibitor concentration. The corrosion current (Icorr) decreased with increase of inhibitor concentration (from 189.9 to 57 μA/cm2) studied by potentio dynamic polaraisation. By using impedance spectroscopy the charge transfer Resistance (Rct) value increased from 5.7602 to 30.95 Ωcm2. These results are in very good agreement with the non electro chemical studies.
