Cobalt and Nitrogen Co-Doped CDS Nanodots for Optomagnetic Applications
Main Article Content
Abstract
Cobalt and nitrogen co-doped CdS (N:CdS:Co) nanodots were synthesized using a chemical co-precipitation method. X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis confirmed a mixed-phase structure comprising cubic zinc blende and hexagonal wurtzite, with peak shifts indicating crystallite size reduction due to doping. Photoluminescence (PL) spectra demonstrated a blue shift in emission peaks, confirming modifications in electronic structure, while electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) and vibrating sample magnetometry (VSM) studies revealed tunable magnetic properties. The interplay between structural, optical, and magnetic characteristics suggests that these nanodots hold promise for optogenetic and spintronic applications
