Abstract
This article describes the synthesis of a novel series of (E)-4-(benzylideneamino)-5-(3-methoxy-2-methylphenyl)-4H-1, 2, 4-triazole-3-thiol derivatives (4b-4k) and its biological application. All the synthesized compounds were elucidated based upon the spectral data of FT- IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR, and LC-MS analysis. The antimicrobial features of the compounds were examined against Gram positive (Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus subtilis) and Gram negative (Escherichia coli) bacteria, also with fungus of Candida albicans and Aspergillus niger via disc diffusion method. Most of the compounds showed good to moderate activity against the tested microbes.
