STUDY OF DIFFERENT PARAMETERS ON ADSORPTION OF METHYLENE BLUE DYE FROM AQUEOUS SOLUTION USING NERIUM OLEANDER AS BIOADSORBENT
Main Article Content
Abstract
A Bio adsorbent nerium oleander has been used as a low cost adsorbent and its efficiency in methylene blue adsorption
was comparatively greater than other adsorbent. The influence of various factors such as adsorbent dose, adsorbate
concentration, particle size, temperature, contact time and pH was studied. The adsorption of the dye over bio
adsorbent was found to follow Langmuir and Freundlich adsorption isotherm models. Based on these models, various
useful thermodynamic parameters have been evaluated. The adsorption of methylene blue over nerium oleander follows
first order kinetics and the rate constants for the adsorption processes decreases.
