SYNTHESIS, CHARACTERIZATION 8 BIOLOGICAL EVALUATION OF SOME NOVEL PYRIDO[1,2-A] PYRIMIDIN-4-ONE DERIVATIVES
Main Article Content
Abstract
Pyrido[1,2-a]pyrimidin-4-one and their derivatives are found to be key intermediates in the synthesis of medicinally active compounds. Therefore an efficient and convenient procedure has been developed for the synthesis of some novel pyrido[1,2-a]pyrimidin-4-one derivatives like aryl-N-(2-(2-methyl-4-oxo-8-(trifluoromethyl)-4H-pyrido[1,2- a]pyrimidin-3-yl)ethyl) carboxamide and alkyl-N-(2-(2-methyl-4-oxo-8-(trifluoromethyl)-4H-pyrido[1,2-a]pyrimidin-3- yl)ethyl)carboxamide. The structures of the new compounds have been evaluated on the basis of FT-IR, 1H NMR and Mass spectroscopy data. They have also been screened for their antimicrobial activities against various strains of bacteria and fungi.
