Abstract

We have synthesized some novel derivatives of 7-Methyl-2-(methylamino)-3-nitro-4-(substitutedphenyl-1H-pyrazol-4- yl)-4H,5H-pyrano[4,3-b]pyran-5-oneby the multicomponent reaction of pyrazole aldehydes derivatives, N-methyl-1- (methylthio)-2-nitroethenamine (NMSM) and 4-hydroxy-6-methyl-2H-pyran-2-one.The synthesized compounds are confirmed by 1H NMR, IR and Mass Spectroscopy. The entire synthesized compounds were tested for their antimicrobial activity against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria and various fungal strains.
