Abstract
Antibiotic resistance is greatest threat to world and it is associated with high mortality and morbidity. Infection caused by resistant microbes do not respond to conventional treatment and thus, results in prolonged illness, longer hospital stay, increased overall treatment cost. Unsafe use of antibiotics can be root cause of resistance. To combat this, there is need to spread awareness among physicians, pharmacists, and patients to promote rational use of antibiotic. This article contemplates benefit of utilising Knowledge, Attitude and Practice (KAP) on management of antibiotic resistance. Understanding level of knowledge, attitude and practice on antibiotics enable more effective process for awareness creation.
